About
First things first.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit me. We all have a limited time on this earth, and none of us knows just how much time we have been given, so I appreciate that you are here today.
What would you do if you only had 6 weeks to live?
What would you do if you knew you would lose your job 6 weeks from today?
Put yourself in this mindset, and experience the clarity of thought it brings to you. This is my “About” page, but this blog is more about you than it is about me.
You can change yourself, if you put your mind to it. I do not believe it can happen overnight, and that is okay. Effective change happens slowly, and the path contains many steps.
But you can start on that path today, if you choose.
You may stumble. I know that I do, every day. That is okay, it is supposed to work that way.
The best way to learn how to walk, is take the first step and fall.
Get back up again, as a child does, and take another step. The sooner you learn what works, and what does not work, the sooner you will attain all that you desire.
That is the concept of “fail early, fail often”.
Just remember to have fun along the way.
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
-John Lennon

And for everyone who came here to read about me, I was inspired to start this page by a scene from the movie Fight Club.
I have always enjoyed writing, and I have a passion for storytelling. I have been blessed with a beautiful wife and four lovely children, and I feel that life is too short to spend it only doing work for someone else on someone else’s ticket.
While my work here is not paying the bills – not yet, but you have to start somewhere – I do not believe it should only be about that anyway.
I had a revelation that night, watching that movie. If I can inspire just one person to take that first step, then the world is a better place.

I was born October 23, 1969. I love music of all kinds. I love my wife. I love my four children. I am an engineer by training, a problem solver by nature. I love to take things apart and make them work better (but sometimes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it). I believe in the best tool for the job. I love technology, and I also love the feeling of bare grass between my toes, the feel of pen on paper, the smell of a book, new or old. I run barefoot, on the pavement and on the dirt. I love Volkswagens.
I like to talk with people, and more importantly, I like to listen to what others have to say. You can learn a lot by listening.
So let’s talk. You go first.
